Blended Learning

What is Blended Learning?

The definition of blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns:

  • at least in part through online learning, with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace
  • at least in part in a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home
  • and the modalities along each student’s learning path within a course or subject are connected to provide an integrated learning experience.

Blended Learning is happening all around!

Are you providing an integrated learning experience for students? Would you like to observe blended learning in practice? Contact Lauren Barry at lbarry@bostonpublicschools.org with questions or add yourself to the blended learning map using the form on the left.

By mapping the blended learning sites in our BPS community and in the Greater Boston area, we can learn and share with each other through learning walks, projects, professional learning communities, and more. Let's activate the expertise in our district.
