For those interested in exploring redesign through an innovation + equity + personalization lens, the Office of Innovation has created a Personalized Learning Redesign Pathway through the Essentials. This pathway allows educators, teams, and schools to redesign their learning environments using Essential Questions and Essentials Practices.
First, choose the Essential that is your school's Instructional Focus. Think deeply about the corresponding Essential Question. Then, choose an Essential Practice aligned with this competency as an entry point to personalized learning redesign. Finally, prototype a design that activates student agency by entering the Redesign Cycle. Click here to for the Personalized Learning Redesign Pathway Worksheet.
See Personalized Learning @BPS sub-pages for resources pertaining to your Essential Practice.
The Boston Opportunity Agenda, a public-private partnership that brings together a wide collection of organizations involved in education, has created a powerful, student-centered definition for College, Career, and Life Readiness (CCLR) for young people in our city. BPS is committed to the CCLR Definition, and Essentials for Instructional Equity are the guideposts to help our talented teams redesign teaching and learning to enable our students to become college, career, and life ready.
Just as CCLR promotes students choosing their own course based on their needs and interests, the Personalized Learning Redesign Pathway promotes educator choosing their own course based their needs and interests.
