TechBoston Academy

TechBoston Academy is delighted to announce that, with the support of a $300,000 grant from the Barr Foundation, we are partnering with the STEAM Studio Foundation, MIT Edgerton Center, New Vista, and BPS Innovation to redesign our high school to support our students' entry into the Innovation Academy. We launched our redesign process in January, 2018.

TechBoston Academy (TBA) welcomes students from all over the Boston Public School district. There is no application or exam needed to enroll. At TBA, a student’s experience is unique to their needs and passions. Students engage in personalized, relevant, contextualized, and open-walled learning environment. Developmentally appropriate student agency is fostered at every grade level.

“Every day, TechBoston is proving that no matter who you are, or what you look like, or where you come from, every child can learn. Every child can succeed. And every child deserves that chance.”

Former President Barack Obama

With a 10:1 student to teacher ratio and small advisory groups, TechBoston Academy ensures success by knowing each student’s passions, strengths, and areas of growth.

TBA is a technology-rich environment with a 1-to-1 student laptops, coding education, robotics courses, AP Computer Principles, a CTE Design & Visual Communications Pathway, and electrical engineering courses in an electronics MakerLab.

After school enrichment options include homework club, gardening club, middle school football, Girls Who Code club, Harlem Lacrosse, and Row Boston and twelve varsity sports.

An extensive student support team, including a guidance counselor for each grade level, support students' academic and social-emotional development.
