Digital Portfolios

What are digital portfolios?

Digital portfolios are on-line records of achievement that enable learners to understand, assess, and grow competence over extended periods of time. Because they are digital rather than paper-based, they enable students to show their achievements using a variety of expressive forms including video and photos. The process of building the portfolio enables student ownership of their own growth and achievements; they enable learners to curate their own material, provide evidence, participate in feedback processes, and set goals. Combined with student presentations, they enable students to set a vision and grow competence in authentic ways.
