Cambridge National Level 2 in Health & Social Care
Overview
This qualification is for learners who wish to develop applied knowledge and practical skills in health and social care. It is designed with both practical and theoretical elements, which will prepare students for further qualifications in Health and Social care, A Levels, T-Levels and apprenticeships.
Assessments
This course is split into 3 units:
Unit 1 - this is the external exam unit which you must pass to achieve a Level 2 qualification. This exam will be sat in Year 10.
Units 2 & 3 - these are two NEA units of work that will be completed during Year 10 and 11 and students must pass both of these to achieve the full qualification.
Skills you will develop on the course:
You will learn about the principles of care in health and social care settings, such as the rights of service users, person-centred values, effective communication and protecting service users and providers.
Supporting individuals through life events by learning about growth and development through the life stages and how to understand the needs of individuals who have been affect by them.
Creative and therapeutic activities will be researched and students will learn about how they can benefit people. Students will also learn about the benefits of creative activities.
Health promotion campaigns. Students will research these and learn about their benefits to society.

After completing this qualification, you could move onto a related level 2/3 qualification or start an Apprenticeship in the health profession. Alternatively, you could follow a career in Psychology, Sociology and Biology.
