The assignment is for you to follow along with a quick photoshop tutorial video that demonstrates how applying adjustment layers can enhance an image. You will select five of your own images to use to make similar adjustments. These can be ANY images that you have taken yourself. Images should consider the rule-of-thirds and the principles of photography as they are taken. In other words… composure is key! You can find links to the video and instructions on my website at bit.ly/ebishoff
NOTE: There are literally hundreds of tutorials available to you through the Bethel School District's subscription to the Adobe Education Exchange. Take advantage of these free tutorials while you can. When you graduate you will lose access to all of these valuable resources unless you start your own paid subscription.
PART A: Watch the entire video called “Learn five simple ways to enhance a photo” in the Adobe Education Exchange and follow along with the provided sample images. Follow all directions in "part A" of the assignment. You will also be pushig your edits ot make "fun" edits. This is in an effort to get to know the sliders and tools.
PART B
STEP ONE: Consider what images you might want to make to complete the processes yourself. Consider the images used in the sample video and how color was used in each image. Also consider what the five images looked like before and after editing.
STEP TWO: Take your own images on campus today! Work in pairs and work quickly so you have time to come back to class to continue working on the project.
STEP THREE: Bring all five of your images into photoshop and apply the same adjustment layers as demonstrated in the video. For each image complete the layers in a professional manner, as if you were going to be delivering these to a client, and in a “whatever you want” manner for yourself. This is the “for fun” side of the project. You can be as weird with the five filters as you like. Try something different!
STEP FOUR: Turn three of each image in to Google Classroom. One original, one professional edit, and a “for fun” edit for each. Place each trio on a separate page of a google doc. 15 images, three per page. Five pages total.
STEP FIVE: Fill out and turn in a project completion sheet in the basket at the front of the room.
