Born in Chicago Illinois (the greatest city in America IMHO)
Moved to Eugene with my family in elementary school.
Wasn't a very good high school student. I graduated with a C+ average. (I did much better in college at the University of Oregon) 😁
Loved drafting, architecture and theater arts in High School.
I probably wouldn't have graduated without Career & Technical Education [CTE] opportunities at my HS at the time.
There are a LOT of CTE programs available here at WHS.
I encourage you to explore and take as many CTE classes as possible.
Take advantage of college credits. (free college!!)
TO DO: Watch the video above to get yourself acquainted with many of the CTE opportunities here at Willamette High School.
You will notice that most CTE classes have a "career investigation" assignment as part of their curriculum. High school is a good time to explore possible careers. Consider investigating several while you are here at WHS. Seek out teachers and family members who have worked in (or teach subjects related to) careers you are interested in. Interview them! Participate in internships or job shadowing.
