American Photographer Research Project

If you have an American photographer in mind that is not on this list, please come talk to me.

After selecting a photographer, use the internet to research the life, photographs and significance of your photographer. You will write a one page, three paragraph summary about this photographer and then collect 5 images by this photographer. The paper must be in YOUR OWN WORDS with proper punctuation and grammar.

In the first paragraph, please discuss basic information about the photographer: birth date, death date (if applicable), place of birth, education details, family details, early life before photography career, etc.

The second paragraph should cover the photographer’s work. What did they specialize in? Did they win any awards or work for a famous publication? Why are they famous?

For the third paragraph, please write about how you feel about this photographer’s work. Do you like it? Did they deserve their acclaim or did they deserve more? Why?

Type up your research paper as a google doc and include a second page with the 4 photographs placed on it. Put the name of the photographer on the top of your paper and your name, computer number, and period number in the upper right corner.

Turn it in through Google Classroom.
