Student Registration

New Student Registration Information

A parent or guardian must register their child at their child’s school prior to the online registration process that is used in the Bedford School District. The required forms are available for download below.  In addition to the forms below and the submission of the electronic form, the following items must be received by your child’s school in order for your child’s registration to be considered complete.

New Student Registration Forms

If you are registering your child to attend a school in the Bedford School District, please download the following forms and bring to the school office that your child will be attending to begin the registration process. Additional information as noted above should be provided to the school as well. Once all forms have been processed, an online registration link will be emailed to parents to complete the registration process.

K-Plus

The K-Plus Program is an extension of the kindergarten day that allows a child to spend their whole day in a Bedford school. The half-day program will be offered opposite a child's regular half-day kindergarten session. The K-Plus Program is open to any kindergarten eligible student who resides in Bedford. It provides daily activities designed to foster a child's growth and development, and provides opportunities to reinforce skills students learned during their kindergarten day. Bedford students attend kindergarten free of charge, while a fee is charged for the K-Plus Program. The fee covers the costs of the program and any increase in kindergarten enrollment.

The K-Plus Program fosters socialization through communication activities, supporting beginning friendships, sharing, and cooperative play. Self-help skills guide emerging independence as students grow throughout the year. K-Plus is a child centered environment that provides an excellent balance to the kindergarten day.

BEEP

BEEP is an inclusive preschool providing the opportunity for typically developing three and four year old children and children identified as having special needs to learn and play together. We believe active participation and concrete learning experiences make learning more meaningful for the children and best serves their development and learning. All the children are provided a multi-sensory learning environment in which they utilize all senses in learning new concepts. Language development and social skills are emphasized throughout the integrated curriculum. Implementation of specialized intervention within natural situations occurs without disrupting the curriculum and educational routines of the classroom.

Returning Students

Returning Student Registrations:

The Bedford School District utilizes an online student registration and student data validation system for all new and returning student registrations.  The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to quickly obtain up to date information on your child. The online system will be used for all new and returning student registrations for student demographic, emergency and medical information and allow you to update that information prior to the start of the new school year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies such as the Technology Responsible Use Policy, School Handbooks and PowerSchool Parent Portal.

This online process replaces all the hard copy student registration and permission forms used in previous years. If you are a returning student, registration emails are sent out in August of each year.  These emails contain step-by-step instructions for creating your account and proceeding through the on-line forms. If you have used the online registration system previously, there is no need to create a new account. You should use the same account for this school year.  If you have not received a letter or email, please contact the school. You must register your child at your child’s school first in order to receive the follow-up email.

Your child's registration will not be considered complete until the on-line registration form is submitted and other required forms are received by the school.
