Mrs O' Sullivan/Mrs Hickey

Hi everyone,

At last, the Summer holidays have arrived. 😎 Well done everyone for all your hard work this year.  We know it hasn't been easy working at home but you all have done a fantastic job. Mrs. O' Sullivan and I really enjoyed seeing all of your work on seesaw and keeping in contact with you over the last few months. Well done to your parents too for working so hard with you all at home. We know it has been a difficult and challenging time for everyone. I hope you all have a happy and healthy  summer holiday. Take a well deserved break. Relax and enjoy the holidays. Looking forward to seeing you all again in the new school year.

Take Care,

Mrs. Hickey and Mrs. O' Sullivan.

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break. As you may have seen from the class teachers, we are currently setting up Seesaw as a home/school communication tool throughout the school. This will allow both parents and students to make contact with the teachers if needed. Mrs Hickey and I will be emailing parents this week with a code for their child so they can access work from us. Every child will receive a code from their class teacher, but the children that come out to us will receive a second separate code as well. I know this is all very confusing. It is new to us all!! We will try to make this new challenge as easy as possible for everyone. As always, any work that has been set or will be set in future, is just a guide. We are here to help in any way. In the mean time, feel free to contact me by email on audreyosullivan@ballyhassns.net while we endeavor to get Seesaw up and running.

Stay safe and well,

Mrs O' Sullivan and Mrs Hickey

Dear Parents,

We hope you are all keeping well and safe in these uncertain times. A pack of work was provided for the children on our workload, where appropriate, to be collected along with their schoolbooks. Obviously, any work set by the class teacher takes precedence to this work. The work provided was only a guide to what may have been covered were we in school as normal. There is no pressure to have any or all of this work completed, as we are well aware that these are stressful times. A unique identification code was given to your child within this pack. Please keep this code to hand in order to check for further work that may be uploaded onto this site.

Some parents may be interested to find that the ncse.ie website has uploaded resources specific to children with special educational needs, including SLT and OT activities. The twinkl.ie and padlet.com websites are also a mine of fun, educational resources suitable for all age groups and abilities. Twinkl has free access for parents at the moment, so it would be well worth setting up an account and downloading as many resources as possible, and printing them in your own time.  There are many other ways of teaching your children at home that do not involve books, eg baking, board games, card games, yard games, nature walks, treasure hunts either inside or outside, art and craft activities, etc. Children learn best when they are having fun!!

We hope to see the children back in school very soon. We all love routine! In the meantime, stay safe and well, and look after each other.

Regards, Audrey O' Sullivan and Caitríona Hickey
