Love Loves You

The “Love Loves You” murals, a series of murals inspired by embracing our differences and loving everyone. The children in the art club practiced how to spray paint hearts, and then graffitied them onto the wall where the older members of the club wrote down the inspirational message “Love Loves You.” During April the Art Club decided to spread the love beyond the Baldwin community, hosting a silent auction of student work during the Baldwin School Art Week. The art sales, along with some caricatures by Carlo Mignucci, raised over $1,000!  All proceeds were used to purchase art materials for Escuela Montessori Jaime C. Rodríguez in Yabucoa. In order to connect with the kids, some of the art club members, Yael Berezdivin and Grace Soltero, painted another version of the “Love Loves You” mural in the school with the help of some of their students when they went to drop off the materials in may. Lastly, Yael Berezdivin and Nathalie Diaz, members of the Art Club, ended the year by painting yet another version of the “Love Loves You” mural in Colegio Maria Auxiliadora with the help of their students. Overall, it was a wonderful year full of love, service, and creativity.
