Space and Mixed Media:  Architecture and Sculptures

Students selected a well-known sculpture or architectural building that interests them. They would then research the piece and its creator, gathering information on its historical context, as well as any techniques or materials used in its creation. Afterward, students would then begin creating their own mixed media version of the artwork, experimenting with different materials and techniques to recreate the texture, color, and form of the original piece. This encouraged the students to think critically about the piece they have selected and to reflect on their own artistic process. Throughout the process, students' skills, knowledge, and creativity expanded, while also encouraging them to explore the rich history and diversity of visual arts.
