REQUIRED MATERIALS
This list covers your basics; you may need to add/replenish supplies over the course of the semester. Product links will be available on the course website. Each student will need access to a space in which they can work on their projects, a computer, webcam, microphone, and reliable internet. I will show examples of the materials (and substitutes) on the first day of class, but don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions.

1 Sketch Pad— suggested size is 9”x12”; minimum size is 7x10" (spiral bound w/ a sturdy cover is recommended)
1 Mix-Media Pad— minimum size is 11”x14” (standard size for in-person classes is 18”x24”)

1 Sheet of black paper— 19”x25” (we will cut into 4 smaller sheets)
1 Collage Board*— approx. size 15''x20'' for final project (need by 4/1/21)
2 sheets 8.5x11” cardstock for making a viewfinder (old manilla folder, cardboard or posterboard OK)

3-4 Charcoal Pencils— 1 White + 2-3 Black (soft-hard)
2-3 Compressed Charcoal Sticks— 1 White + 2 Black (soft)
Vine/Willow Charcoal (soft or medium) of various widths, as needed
Sharpie Marker— Black (fine or chisel tip)
2-4 Drawing Pens— Black (0.3mm – 1.0mm)

3M Scotch Painter's Tape for Delicate Surfaces - 3/4'' x 60 yards (or low tack drafting tape)
3-4 paper Blending stumps (variety)
Cardboard (or protective surface to cut on)
Lint-free rag or an old t-shirt (cut into ~6” pieces)
Optional (but recommended):
Sandpaper Block - 1'' x 4'' (to sharpen charcoals)
Hardboard— size must be larger than your pad
Elmer's Poster Tack Putty (for hanging work to photograph; painter’s tape OK)
