Set up a workspace where you feel inspired and can create comfortably for three hours a day.
You will need:
a firm, flat, smooth surface for your drawing paper
access to your computer, paper, and materials
access to a power outlet
a space that can get dirty
storage for your exercises and finished assignments
to limit distractions (like interruptions from roommates or access to your cell phone)
You will want:
a dedicated space that you don't need to set up everyday
methods for organizing your supplies (I use clear plastic storagre tubs to organize my supplies)
wall space to tape or pin your work to (distance and verticality allows you to really "see" your work)
bright overhead lighting or access to windows/sunlight
music to keep you motivated
