Your academic advising team works together to keep you informed, on track for graduation, and supported throughout your program. Here is some information about the roles within the team.

As the core members of your advising team, we will interact with you most frequently. We are experts on your program requirements and are available to assist with program-related questions. We are also familiar with ASU and MLFTC resources and will refer you, as appropriate, to ensure you are fully supported.

Cadie Ely - Academic Success Coordinator, Sr.
Cadie coordinates advising-related functions, working mainly behind the scenes, though you will likely hear from her at some point during your program.
Brian Robinson - Academic Success Coordinator, International Partnerships
Brian supports students in various countries throughout Africa pursuing graduate certificates, as well as students in China pursuing programs taught exclusively in the Mandarin language.

The MS in Education Sciences qualifies for the STEM OPT extension for students studying on F-1 visas.

Required Courses and Plan of Study
Upon admission to the program, each MS Education Sciences student is assigned a sequence of courses. It is important to follow the assigned course sequence and discuss any variation from the sequence with an academic advisor. In addition to guiding your enrollment each semester, your course sequence will act as a guide when you create your iPOS also known as your “Interactive Plan of Study”.
To access your iPOS, log in to your My ASU page, and in the My Programs box, click on “iPOS” below the name of your program. Then click “Graduate Interactive Plan of Study (iPOS).”

To complete your iPOS, you will need your specific course sequence listed under your term of admission. Click the link for the sequence you are following for the semester you started your coursework. The specific course sequence will also include the term (fall, spring, or summer) and the session (A or B).
The courses to enter on your iPOS will be in categories under the Courses - Course Admin section of the iPOS. Use your course sequence to determine which classes are entered under each category and the semester you will complete the course.
Your faculty advisor is Geoffrey Borman. You will search for this name under the Faculty Committee section of the iPOS and select the role as Chair.
Once complete, submit your iPOS for approval by navigating to the tab labeled “Summary/Submit”. Please note that a submitted and approved iPOS can be updated at any point prior to graduation.

Culminating Experience
This program requires an applied project that includes an internship experience. This will be a placement with an agency (e.g., Arizona Department of Education, Arizona State University), a business that deals with data analytics, a research institute, or in some cases, an on-campus project. This serves two purposes:
A) to provide you with an opportunity to integrate all coursework and experience
B) to prepare you for the job market
Faculty advisors will assist you in securing an appropriate placement to complete this requirement.
