Required Courses and Plan of Study

1. Upon admission to the program, each MEd Learning Design and Technologies student is assigned a sequence of courses. It is important to follow the assigned course sequence and discuss any variation from the sequence with an academic advisor. In addition to guiding your enrollment each semester, your course sequence will act as a guide when you create your iPOS also known as your “Interactive Plan of Study”.

2. To access your iPOS, log in to your My ASU page, and in the My Programs box, click on “iPOS” below the name of your program. Then click “Graduate Interactive Plan of Study (iPOS).”

3. To complete your iPOS, you will need your specific course sequence listed under your term of admission. Click the link for the sequence you are following for the semester you started your coursework. The specific course sequence will also include the term (fall, spring, or summer) and the session (A or B).

4. The courses to enter on your iPOS will be in categories under the Courses - Course Admin section of the iPOS. Use your course sequence to determine which classes are entered under each category and the semester you will complete the course.

5. Your faculty advisor is Leanna Archambault You will search for this name under the Faculty Committee section of the iPOS and select the role as Chair. 

6. Once complete, submit your iPOS for approval by navigating to the tab labeled “Summary/Submit”. Please note that a submitted and approved iPOS can be updated at any point prior to graduation.

Culminating Experience

LDT 593 Applied Project - This course is the culminating experience of your Learning Design and Technologies M.Ed., and during the course, you’ll apply what you’ve learned across the program. You’ll begin your transition from student to practitioner by assuming the role of a Learning Design and Technology Consultant and work with an external stakeholder to create an instructional program. You’ll form a partnership with an organization willing to work with you, identify someone within that organization to act as your project sponsor and identify an instructional need, training problem or performance gap within that organization. You’ll respond to the problem by conceiving of, designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating an instructional program in an online or blended format to mitigate the problem.

Students must earn a grade of B of higher in the culminating experience course to graduate from the program.
