In S2, topics are designed to develop both knowledge and skills.
Term 1: Morality topic – Scotland, religion and Equality
Term 2: The Three Jewels of Buddhism – the founder, the beliefs and the community.
Term 3: Hinduism – key beliefs, polytheism, views on moral topics, reflection on own opinions
Term 4: Philosophy Topic – Death and its rituals
SQA RME Award outcomes are:
Outcome 1: Develop knowledge and understanding of a topic involving religion or religious belief
Outcome 2: Reflect on their faith or values in response to the topic.
Third Level Outcomes – Completing the outcomes of the RME Award at Level 3
Fourth Level Outcomes – Completing the outcomes of the RME Award at Level 4
Fourth+ Level Outcomes – Completing the outcomes of the RME at Level 5 or 6
Working Level and Working Grade descriptions for S2 RME:
Third A: Pupil has passed the RME Award at Level 3
Third B: Pupil has almost passed the RME Award at Level 3
Third C: Pupil has significant work to do in order to pass the RME Award at Level 3
Third D: Pupil is unlikely to pass the RME Award at Level 3 and will be moved to work at Level 2
Fourth A: Pupil has passed the RME Award at Level 4
Fourth B: Pupil has almost passed the RME Award at Level 4
Fourth C: Pupil has significant work to do in order to pass the RME Award at Level 4
Fourth D: Pupil is unlikely to pass the RME Award at Level 4 and will be marked at Level 3
Fourth+ A: Pupil has passed the RME Award at Level 5 or 6
Fourth+ B: Pupil has almost passed the RME Award at Level 5 or 6
Fourth+ C: Pupil has significant work to do in order to pass the RME Award at Level 5 or 6
