Interested in Study Away?
APU partners with Living and Learning International (LLI), who hosts the East Coast Semester Program. This experiential-learning program on the East Coast, is designed to teach, mentor, and prepare you for your future profession. Whether you’re studying business, public health, political science, social work, ministry, or anything in between, we believe this is the place for you to grow and make an impact. Your college courses and customized internship will not only develop you professionally, but you’ll grow in spiritual formation as you see how career and faith go hand-in-hand.
During this summer 8-week study away program, students gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how their major can create a lasting impact on the community around them. The Baltimore Urban Study Center allows students to access and learn from communities in Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. LLI provides opportunities for students to live in community, engage the challenges of the world, and learn to respond with a biblical Christian worldview. Students develop a new perspective on urban life as they experience serving on the East Coast!

Students will need to seek advising from their APU academic department's internship coordinator if they are interested in receiving APU credit for their LLI internship. Students will need to request this information in advance and are responsible for starting the process.
APU prerequisites are mandatory.
Registration is all through your APU Account. Upon acceptance, students will be granted access to register for study away sections of the courses.
Students will need to complete a Transfer Credit & Course Substitution (TCCS) Form to transfer course credit and/or internship credit to APU credits.
A TCCS Form will be required for credit not already approved by APU. Submitted forms go through all academic required departments and results (approvals or denials) are emailed back to students. Results from the TCCS process must be obtained prior to departure so you only take courses that count towards your degree. Keep the results so you have proof of how your program courses will count once you complete them.
