Virtual Engagement Opportunities allow students to partner with people and organizations from around the world to take courses or complete an internship all while staying right where you are. Some opportunities may grant academic credit for transfer back to APU. These opportunities are ideal for students who would like to gain international experience but are unable to participate in a traditional semester program or GO Term program.
Virtual Engagement Opportunities are offered through external (non-APU) program providers and each one has its own application process. Follow the process provided by the specific program provider.
Some Virtual Engagement Opportunities may count for transfer credit back to APU. In order to see if the Virtual Engagement Opportunity you have chosen will count for course credit, the following will need to be verified and completed. We encourage you to investigate these prior to starting your Virtual Engagement Opportunity.
Verification that the program provider can provide a transcript from an accredited U.S. institution of higher education.
Completion and approval of a Transfer Credit & Course Substitution Form through the Undergraduate Enrollment Services Center for each course. For more information on transferring courses to APU, see here.
All University policies listed in the academic catalog are adhered to, including graduation requirements.
Each program provider will have a different cost for their Virtual Engagement Opportunity. This cost will be paid directly to the program provider and will not be charged to your APU student account.
You are welcome to research additional Virtual Engagement Opportunities! If you would like them to count as course credit, you will need to follow the process above. If you find an opportunity you think would be beneficial to other students, feel free to share it with us. We will review it and may include it in our list above.
