Interested in Study Away?
We understand that your time studying away was filled with many adjustments, triumphs, challenges, and adventures. After having encountered new places, new perspectives, and new ideas, we want to encourage you to seek how God can continue to shape and direct you. We believe He can provide all that you need to integrate and apply what you learned while studying off campus to all areas of life (relational, spiritual, vocational, physical, emotional).
We hope you will take advantage of the invitations for re-entry celebrations, reunions, Study Away Symposium, and conferences that you will receive upon returning to help connect you with others who share in your experiences. We also invite you to browse the resources provided on this site to assist you with the re-entry process and journey of continuing to grow as a global citizen. And be sure to stop by the center to share about your experience!
APU students who have experienced a study away program and location, many will be eager to learn more and will want to bring that story back to their community and make it a real part of their life. With GLBL425 Integration and Formation, a post-Study Away academic course, our goal is to turn the experience into a vibrant post-trip alumni community that is committed to spreading the practice of intercultural learning on campus and beyond.

When you return from studying away and join APU’s Study Away Alumni, you have opportunities and resources available to you!
Program Reunion - Attend your program’s reunion gathering. CCEL’s Study Away Team works with alumni to plan a gathering for each APU semester program to meet together again, reflect over their time abroad, and share in the re-entry process. If your program doesn't have a reunion, help create one or meet with a Study Away staff member to share about your experiences individually.
Post-Study Away Curriculum - Enroll in the 1-credit, post-study away experience, GLBL 425 Integration and Formation, to intentionally debrief all you experienced and maximize what you learn and integrate into your on-going life.
Study Away Symposium - Plan to be at each semester's event to share and to continue to grow in your worldview development.
