We should always greet members when they enter our facilities, even if we think they will not respond to us.
We never know if we will make someone's day
Make the Participant the Priority!
Face participants as they walk in!
Stand up and make sure your back isn't turned
Try not to sit on the desk
Participant Interactions > Coworker Conversations
Stop speaking with a co-worker if you're in the middle of a conversation and talk (greet, answer questions, etc) to the participant
Come out from behind the desk and stand by the swipers to make connections with participants (if more than one member service is working)
This will help ensure participants feel welcomed, they swipe, and have a waiver on file
being out in front of the desk allows us to have more face-to-face interactions
We want to form connections! You could ask participants some of these prompts:
What's your answer to our daily poll?
What workout are you doing today?
Do you have a song suggestion?
Let me know if I can assist you in any way!
After a participant swipes their card you should respond with the following prompts:
"Welcome to the SRC/Quinn/UREC!"
"Have a great day!"
"Have a great workout!"
"Thanks for coming to visit us today!"
"How are you?"
"Is there anything I can help you with today?"
"Thank you!"
"You're all set!"
Ask about their workout
"Have Fun!"
You should also provide an exit greeting when participants leave our facilities!
