Grade Offered: 9

Credits: 3 Fine Arts

Band & Choir 9 A, B, C

Course # 5231, 5232, 5233

Grade Offered: 9

Credits: 3 Fine Arts

Prerequisites: Previous Band Experience

Description: Enrollment for this course is restricted to 9th Graders ONLY. Enrolling in Band/Choir means that students in the 9th grade will report to band for two days and sing in choir every third day. This arrangement of “sharing” between band and choir allows students to experience both instrumental and vocal formats/genres of music making. It is offered as an option because the music faculty at the high school holds a firm belief that participation in many facets of music making only serves to increase the musicianship of student performers. It takes no more credits to “share” than to enroll in either band or choir as a single course. See the Band 9 (5001, 5002, 5003) and Choir 9 or 10 (5201, 5202, 5205) course descriptions for further information.
