World Language FAQs
I completed Spanish 1 or French 1 in 8th grade. Which course should I register for now?
Students who have passed all 3 trimesters of Level 1 French or Spanish in 8th grade should register for French 2 or Spanish 2. Consider retaking French 1 or Spanish 1 if you had more than one trimester with a grade lower than 70%, since you will need the Spanish/French 1 skills to be successful in the next level.
How many years of language classes are recommended to get into college?
Many colleges, both locally and around the country, require students to take 2 or 3 years of the same language during high school.
Is it too late to start a language?
It's never too late! French and Spanish are offered in all grades, so you may start or continue studying world languages at Roseville Area High School at any point.
I'm a Spanish/French speaker and I would like to take my first language class at RAHS. How do I know which class is best for me?
Please email RAHS Spanish teacher Sarah Webb (sarah.webb@isd623.org) or RAHS French teacher Kirsten Peterson (kirsten.l.peterson@isd623.org). They will help you find a good fit!
