We work out program fees based on the overheads of the program and the number of students taking part.
Our biggest investment is in our Directors and Conductors — the professional musicians that direct the program and conduct the ensembles. The majority of program administration is covered by volunteer parents.
A typical year's participation in one ensemble works out at just over $10 per week plus tuition and instrument hire which is a pretty amazing return when you think about the short and long term benefits of learning an instrument!
Prices below are for 2022 and subject to change in future years.
Instrument hire/purchase costs vary greatly. There are a small number of ANPS-owned instruments that can be hired out at reasonable rates. Please seek the advice of your tutor or ensemble conductor before purchasing an instrument.
Each child will need a music stand for home practice. Approximate cost: $20.
Private lesson/tuition fees are to be paid directly to your child’s individual tutor.
Approximate cost: $40–45 per 30 minute lesson. One lesson per week.
ANPS Band t-shirt To be worn at performances with black pants, socks & shoes. Cost: $15. Second hand t-shirts are available on request.
ANPS has their music camp at Stanwell Tops. The Camp Fee covers overnight accommodation, meals, tuition and conductors for the residential camp (one night).
To be eligible for camp you must be in Year 3 and above AND in either Chamber Strings, Senior Strings, Junior Band or Senior Band. Students in the Junior Strings ensemble are not eligible to attend.
Coach transport to and from camp is also included. The cost is approximately $325 and will vary slightly each year. The fees are payable prior to attendance at the camp.

The ANPS music program offers a limited number of bursaries to students whose family’s financial position restricts the child’s ability to take up or continue to be part of the ANPS Band & Strings Program. The bursary will cover program fees outlined above, but unfortunately this does not cover private tuition, room hire or instrument hire charges. Further information can be supplied upon request. Requests for bursaries should be made to the Principal, Kerrena Worrad.
Please note that bursaries from previous years will not roll over automatically and all bursaries need to be re-applied for.
