As a regular feature of the Band & Strings Program at Annandale North Public School, we held the annual overnight camp at The Tops Conference Centre, Stanwell Tops. The children had a great time away — a great opportunity to bond as ensembles and friends as they work closely with specialised tutors and conductors.
The camp was attended by over 80 students in Year 3 and above in Junior Band, Senior Band, Chamber Strings, Senior Strings and the Orchestra.
Thanks to the teachers: Mr Clift, Mr Allan and Ms Waterford
To the volunteers who travelled down by bus, car and train to Stanwell Tops to help out: Brooke Meany, Nicole Hayward, Monika Raszewska, Juanita Ford, Trudi Semenick, Dale Wilson, Kate Rutledge and Elisa Watson.
And of course to Sophie, Heloise (Band/Orchestra and Strings Directors) and their crew of music tutors who worked with the children to learn many new pieces to be performed at upcoming school assemblies and at events throughout the year.
And last, but by no means least, the 2019 camp was a great success thanks to the tireless efforts, late nights and awesome coordination of Amy Monk.
