Inner West Music Festival

On Sunday 26 June 2022, ANPS Band & Strings took part in the Inner West Music Festival at Burwood Girls High School.

Our musicians did so well turning up right after stage 3 camp and on busy sporting weekends right at the end of term. One family even changed a birthday party allowing a bunch of students to take part! Great commitment students and parents!

The Festival included concert bands and string ensembles, quartets, rock bands, flute groups, singing groups and recorder ensembles.

Musicians came from Abbotsford, Ashfield, Haberfield, Burwood, Newtown, Petersham, Stanmore, Orange Grove and of course Annandale!

Our ANPS musicians played beautifully in front of the audience — and the adjudicator — who awarded special mentions and certificates to not one but three of our ensembles! Congratulations Annandale North Senior Strings, Senior Band and Orchestra!!!

Congratulations too to Sophie Unsen, Rachel Pogson and Niamh Armstrong — and Heloise Meisel — who worked so hard through the pandemic and two lockdowns to keep music making alive at Annandale North. The recognition today is testament to your endless energy and enthusiasm. Thank you!

We're very grateful to the Burwood Girls High School Music Program and their many volunteers and stage hands for hosting and managing the event. We look forward to attending again next year!
