PROJECT RATIONALE

We chose the following flowers due to their color and blooming time. They fit well within our sun exposure criteria, considering the fact that we have a woodland area, so it would receive little to no sunlight. At first, we only had a very limited amount of plants to choose from. However, it was brought to our attention that there were other plants that were capable of living in such conditions. Consequently, our selection widened, enabling us to create a more diverse garden, which will hopefully attract multiple different types of pollinators.

By following Ben Vogt’s guidelines, we were able to assemble a garden that was in bloom from April to October, a variety of colors, and arranged from shortest (in the front) to the tallest (in the back).
