We based our design off of our client's plant preferences along with the conditions of the planting area. We organized the plants based on their height. The tall plants are farther away from the path so that they do not fall into the walkway. That is why our short plants line the outside, and the tall plants are in the inside. We also took into consideration the soil conditions and amount of sunlight. We chose plants that worked well in sunny or partly sunny areas, and plants that grow in wet, rich soil. Bushes and sedges were added in order to have something growing in the space before the flowers bloom. If we didn’t use bushes there would be bare patches in the places were the flowers aren't blooming. Lastly we chose some plants that would attract pollinators that our client wanted, such as hummingbirds.
