Our client really didn’t give us any guidelines or restrictions, so we could pretty much do whatever we wanted. We stuck with a color scheme of blue, white, and purple. We did this because our previous knowledge of the client as a teacher and the knowledge of her husband led us to pick these colors. We picked a range of sizes from 12”-36” so that the tall ones could go in the middle and add depth while the small ones would stay on the border and allow someone to still see the taller ones. Next, between the fact that the client said there could potentially be a bit of standing water and that we indicated that the soil was probably a clay loam, we picked plants that could generally take a quite a bit of water. Lastly, we picked plants that would bloom at all different times of year so that her small children could be surprised at the new flowers every month, year round.
