Post Pollinator Garden Evaluation (Fall 2017)

How did your pollinator garden do this summer?

Drought was hard on them, More painted ladies (butterflies), lots of it survived.

How did the garder meet your visual expecations?

They thought it was very pretty for what it was.

How did you maintain the garden and what do you wish you had done?

They were gone for 6 weeks total therefore it wasn't very maintained.

How often did you water your garden this summer?

Not much even with the drought and being gone.

What chemicals did you use in your garden?

None.

How easy was it to maintain the garden and how did this fit with your original expectations?

They didn’t have any high expectations because they knew this first year would be hard but Margret wanted more pollinators.

Did any plants take over the garden? Did any plants die completely?

No, not presumably that any plants died, if any died it was still +90% survived.

What significant issues arose this summer with your pollinator garden?

They weren’t as attentive to the garden because they were gone. they would “be more ready for it next year”

What can we do to make the pollinator garden process better?

They gave positive feedback with the original planters or gardeners, They learned more about pollinators and what plants help out.

How did the pollinator garden planting process fit with your expectations?

“Did a very good job’ They praised it and the project but wanted more pollinators to visit but they understood that the garden needed time to grow and that more pollinators will come with time.

Do you enjoy the experience of having a pollinator garden? Why or why not?

Yes, they liked gardening and wanted to help the bees and said they saw a lot.

What have your neighbors and family members said about your pollinator garden?

They said no one mentioned it.

How was having a pollinator garden affected you or your home?

More focused on pollinators, they thought it was nice and they received “positive feelings”

What type of pollinators or wildlife visited your garden?

Pink lady butterflies, bees (but they didn’t know what type)

Which neighbors or other people you know might be interested in having a pollinator garden?

They will email us.

Are there any final comments, questions, or concerns that you didn't already tell us about?

They thought it was a good project. They really enjoyed it.
