March 2023

Project Update

So many months have passed since we first started this project that was approved by public election in March of 2020. As we near the end, this final newsletter update is a mix of what’s completed and a look at the areas still under construction but nearing completion.

Area 100 This area stretches through the middle of the building between the elementary office and what was the Family & Consumer Science classroom. It consisted of carpet in the hallways, remodeling of all the restrooms, the new media center, and the new central office. On the second floor, this also included the remodel of the high school library space into three classrooms. This area is entirely done, with the exception of a few touch up items that have made their way onto the punch list.

Area 200 This area is the addition of the music rooms and auditorium, and it is the last remaining area to be completed. On the main level, this consists of a new vocal music room, a new band room, practice rooms, and the new 500 seat auditorium. At the time of this newsletter, final pieces of the roof are being installed., and framing is nearly complete inside. The completion date on this, as well as the entire project completion, has been pushed back to early July. Area 200 also included the remodeling of classrooms upstairs. This included splitting the music room into two classrooms and installing restrooms for the second floor. And good news, we will get the remainder of the parking lot back when this area is completed.

Area 300 Area 300 is what most of us know as the small gym. This area now contains 8 classrooms, 4 upstairs and 4 downstairs., as well as the remodeling of the restrooms in the main high school hallway. Similar to all other areas except Area 200, this area is entirely done, with just a few touch up items that have made their way onto the punch list.

Area 400 Area 400 is the new career and technical space and relocated Family & Consumer Science classroom, which included an internal remodel for the Family & Consumer Science classroom and the new construction of a shop for the industrial tech program. This area also contains the new student and activities entrance. Signage for this area is coming soon, which will make this area a bit more user friendly. In addition to a few punch list items here, the remaining work includes an additional area for student parking. The space to the north that is currently occupied by the construction job site and materials will be improved at  the end of the project for this parking area.

Area 500 This area is our elementary. It consisted of carpet in all the hallways, remodeling of all the restrooms, construction of the new elementary entrance and office remodel, as well as the elementary library conversion to two classrooms. Again, a few punch list items remain. This includes the final connection of the new intercom system, which is also the case for the middle school and high school.

Multipurpose Building The multipurpose building, now referred to as the Fieldhouse, is in use. A few punch list items remain to be done here as well. And it’s probably no surprise to anyone that  the wish list has already begun to enhance this space.

I cannot express enough thanks to all of you for your patience and support throughout this process. Our students, staff, and visitors have been so great about the inconveniences that go along with a project of this scope. The final product is in sight!
