The school’s culture is one of care and ambition for all.
Ofsted 2023
Welcome to Winton Community Academy’s website. I am incredibly privileged and proud to lead this wonderful school with its rich history and promising future.
Blessed with fantastic facilities, which includes a MUGA, a recently refurbished library and gymnasium, new music suite, dance studios, animal management area and expansive grounds. In addition to this, we are delighted to be celebrating the opening of our brand new £5m expansion building, which includes a full size school hall, two state of the art science laboratories and two additional classrooms, as well as new toilet facilities. We are also pleased to announce the opening of our renovated ‘Inclusion Space’ which has bespoke classrooms and breakout space for our nurture and SEND students.
The school maintained a ‘Good’ grade in the latest visit by Ofsted in 2023 and we view this as a fantastic foundation; a springboard from which to launch our drive towards excellence. We pride ourselves on a culture of high support and high expectations, and we are grateful to all parents and families who work closely with us to ensure their child’s wellbeing and success.
Student Voice and Leadership is valued here at Winton, and we are delighted to have a talented team of Prefects and Mentors who support the school, and who help us grow and develop through their excellent work on the school council.
This community around our students is essential to their bright future, and is not just important to me personally, but to us all collectively. We know that our students achieve more with a community standing with them; to encourage, to champion, and to guide them. We are grateful to those who support us through membership of our Parent Teacher Association, and our Parent and Carer Feedback Group. Beyond our local community we are supported by a nationwide community of learners and educators, as part of Lift Schools, enabling us to learn from and share with each other.
Our students are the best ambassadors of our school. They are overwhelmingly kind, thoughtful and ambitious young people who are destined for bright futures. Our ‘Winton Way’ sits at the heart of academy life; a manifesto for building a culture of courtesy and respect within and outside of our physical grounds.
We encourage you to visit us at the academy to learn more. Join us for Open Evening, an Open Morning Tour, or our more informal coffee mornings, or simply get in touch to request a visit. We look forward to welcoming you.
