Always, we have a range of events to support the transitions process to help families make their decision.

Year 06 Information Evening | In order for families to best support each student’s transition to Bexleyheath Academy, we held a Year 06 Parent Information Evening on Tuesday, 08 July and Wednesday, 09 July. Invitations were sent out for families to attend on one of these dates.
The information evening consisted of an assembly with the Principal and other key members of staff; a meeting with a member of staff and the signing of our home-school agreement; and a tour of the academy.
Due to having nearly 300 families joining us, we allocated a day for attendance.
Year 06 SEND Transition Morning | In order for families of our Year 06 SEND students to best support each student’s transition to Bexleyheath Academy, we held a Year 06 SEND Transition Information Event.
Families of our SEND students were sent an invitation to attend one of the dates. The information evening provided an opportunity to meet our SENDCO and Inclusion team; understand our SEND provision at Bexleyheath Academy and hear about the experiences of our SEND students; take part in a question and answer session; and have a tour of the academy.
These events took place on Tuesday, 24 June and Wednesday, 25 June.
We had our first Year 06 English and Mathematics masterclass for year 06 students. This was open to students across the local community to support students with their preparations for their SATs assessments. The sessions were delivered by our subject experts in English and Mathematics, addressing common misconceptions and challenges that students find in developing comprehension of texts in English and problem solving with fractions in Mathematics. We had 86 students in attendance. Students reported that they thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and were excited to apply this new method of multiplying fractions.
Virtual Clubs | We ran a range of virtual clubs for our Year 06s' to join to support their transition. The virtual club allowed families to join together. Please see a linked video to one of the clubs.
IT Workshop | Year 06 Unleash Their Inner Code | We recently welcomed 58 enthusiastic Year 6 students to an electrifying IT workshop, where they dove headfirst into the thrilling world of coding! Our young innovators didn't just learn about coding; they became coders, each designing their very own computer game.
The energy in the room was palpable as students unleashed their creativity, bringing their unique game ideas to life. One student enthusiastically reported, "I absolutely loved designing my own game and adding soundtracks to it!"
It was truly inspiring to see so many bright minds engaging with technology in such a hands-on and exciting way. We can't wait to see what these future tech wizards create next!
