Description:
To develop their understanding of the role of Biology in scientific issues and relevant applications of Biology. Pupils will participate in variety of activities extending their knowledge and understanding for more advanced learning in Biology.
Pupils complete 3 units of work and an assignment.

National 4 Biology or another National 4 Science Qualification and approval from science teacher.
Assessment
Level 5 Assessment at the end of each unit with 50% required to pass. An assignment that includes an experiment/ field work/ experimental data and research from each candidate conducted under controlled conditions.
Final Exam
Total marks - 100
Time- 2hours 30 Minutes.
Section 1 contains Multiple choice Questions and has 25 marks.
Section 2 contains structured and extended response questions and has 75 marks.
National 5 Chemistry

Final exam 2hours 30 Minutes. 25 multiple choice questions 110 marks in extended answer questions.
NPA Applied Sciences SCQF Level 5
Description:
Learners will continue to develop their knowledge and understanding of biology, chemistry and physics as well has skills in good laboratory practice to prepare them for progression to further study of science.
Pupils complete 4 units of work.
