Junior Phase

Pupils will follow the second, third and fourth levels of the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) courses. The Maths Faculty will ensure that individuals progress through the levels at an appropriate pace, delivering a varied and differentiated learning experience. The curriculum is structured around the Experiences and Outcomes as set out by Education Scotland. This will cover the Maths and Numeracy aspect of their S1-S3 Broad General Education.

Senior Phase

In the senior phase, students may choose from the following courses:

  • National 3 Lifeskills

  • National 4 Lifeskills

  • National 4 Mathematics

  • National 5 Mathematics

  • Higher Mathematics

  • Advanced Higher Mathematics

Lifeskills courses consist of three units providing learners with the opportunity to develop and apply a range of mathematics skills for life and work within real life contexts. Mathematics courses have an increased emphasis on skills development and higher-order thinking skills.
