Once we have the Six Pieces of Evidence, we can start looking for an answer to the question. The ultimate goal is to locate the answer in the first source checked.
1) Check your library's resources first
use the most specific term first
use synonyms if necessary
use broader terms when all else fails
So if we are researching Asperger Syndrome in a library catalog or database without finding anything, we could broaden our search to the term Autism.
2) Think out loud
this helps to maintain a connection with the patron
this demonstrates and teaches the patron about the process used when searching for information
