Jacey is a first-year industrial hygiene student from Marquette, MI. She went to Northern Michigan University and earned her bachelor’s degree in biology (BS) and minored in environmental studies. She was also a student athlete at Northern and was on the Women's Alpine Ski Team. She worked as a summer student at Eagle Mine in Marquette for three summers during undergrad, which is where she discovered Industrial Hygiene. After that, she worked at TriMedia Environmental & Engineering as an IH intern for the past three summers. She is most interested in learning about the chemical hazards that are found in the workplace, especially in mining. Fun fact: Jacey grew up on a horse farm!
Parker Willis grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is a first-year M.S. student who earned his B.S. in Public Health from Brigham Young University, where he emphasized Environmental and Occupational Health. After stepping down from BYU’s Ballroom Dance Company, he became a founding member and president of the Occupational Health Association and worked as an industrial hygiene technician supporting campus laboratories and exposure assessments. His broader experiences include evaluating air pollution exposures in Nepali brick-worker housing, interning in Bangkok, Thailand on global occupational health initiatives, and presenting a workplace safety proposal at the International Labour Organization’s “Call to Action” competition in Osaka, Japan. He has been recognized with competitive awards such as the AIHA Robert G. Smith Scholarship, the ASSP Foundation Scholarship, and the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Parker is passionate about advancing global worker health and plans to continue his training at Michigan through a Ph.D. in Environmental Health Sciences. Outside of academics, he enjoys traveling, golfing, running after-school chess clubs for kids, and spending time outdoors with his wife and puppy.
Hannah Stovall is a first year MPH Industrial Hygiene student from Livonia, MI. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Public Health Sciences in 2025. Hannah has numerous professional experiences working in the healthcare setting where she has gained valuable knowledge of healthcare operations. Hannah’s specific academic interests lie in primary injury prevention and workplace safety, which led her to the field of industrial hygiene. In the future, Hannah hopes to obtain her Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) certifications. In her free time, Hannah likes to play recreational sports, read books, and crochet.
Benson Hang is a first year industrial hygiene MPH student born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Bioengineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He has had previous research experience working with cancer cell biology and cellular chirality and has been working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in Michigan Medicine’s Gastroenterology Division since 2023. He enjoys patient interaction and is involved in several clinical trials evaluating the effectiveness of novel medical devices aimed at relieving gastrointestinal distress in patients with irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pancreatitis, and spinal cord injury. Benson plans to pursue a certificate in Risk Science and Human Health and Healthcare Infection Prevention and Control, with the goal of becoming an industrial hygienist working in the healthcare field where he hopes to continue improving the health and well-being of patients, families, and health care providers alike. In his free time, Benson enjoys going to concerts, spending time with friends, and plenty of pickle ball.
Yasmin Chouaf is a first-year MS Industrial Hygiene student from Fort Collins, Colorado. She earned her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Environmental Public Health from Colorado State University. During her internship with the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, she developed a strong interest in occupational safety, which deepened her commitment to protecting human health. While still refining her research focus, Yasmin is especially passionate about advancing healthy and safe working environments in minority communities. She plans to pursue her Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification in the future. Outside of academics, she enjoys powerlifting, baking, and snowboarding.
Paulina Frost is a first year Industrial Hygiene MPH candidate from Houston, Texas. She graduated in June 2023 from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Global Disease Biology. She discovered the field of industrial hygiene after graduation and was immediately drawn to it because of its combination of public health and hard sciences. She is particularly interested in how industrial hygienists can play a role in reducing infectious disease transmission in the workplace and how to protect workers most vulnerable to the increasing threats posed by climate change. Paulina is currently an intern for the University of Michigan's Environment, Health and Safety office, working in research safety and conducting lab inspections. She is pursuing a certificate in Risk Science & Human Health to complement her industrial hygiene curriculum and hopes to become a Certified Industrial Hygienist in the future. In her free time, Paulina enjoys going to concerts, roller skating, watching the latest horror movies, and taking art classes.
Lindsey White is a first-year MPH EHS Industrial Hygiene candidate, additionally pursuing the Risk Science & Human Health certificate at the University of Michigan. Lindsey grew up in rural Texas before moving to Columbus, Ohio to pursue a B.S. in Earth Science and Chemistry with a minor in Theatre (audio engineering, sound design, and IT) at The Ohio State University. Lindsey has worked as a technical writer and editor in academic journal publishing, instructional design for courses used by wastewater treatment plants, and cybersecurity. She also has emergency management experience as a FEMA Reservist and American Red Cross volunteer. Most recently, she worked at Franklin County Public Health as an Environmental Health Specialist in Training in the Water Quality program. Her professional interests include protecting first responders during hazardous materials incidents, promoting environmental compliance through inspections and enforcement, and advancing global WASH initiatives to expand access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. She is also interested in real-world health and safety, from data collection to the dissemination of science that allows communities to make informed decisions. Outside of academics, Lindsey enjoys hiking, stained glass, creative writing, cats, and hands-on projects around the house that draw on her mechanical and problem-solving skills.
