Andrew Dyer is a graduate of the MPH program in Industrial Hygiene. His research interests included how hygiene and safety can enable sustainable practices. His undergraduate studies were in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Michigan-Flint, and he completed the Genetics in Public Health certificate program to understand how workplace exposures interact with genetics. As if not busy enough, he also maintains an interest in amateur wildlife photography and programming.
Kristin Hosfeld is a graduate of the Industrial Hygiene MPH program. Before arriving in Ann Arbor for graduate school, Kristin lived in Midland, MI working for The Dow Chemical Company as a Technical Customer Service Representative. Her experience here included product formulation and regulatory compliance for many chemicals. During the summer of 2015 Kristin interned at General Motors in Warren, MI. Her experience here was in the Industrial Hygiene group and project focused on exposure to metal removal fluids in Powertrain facilities.
Kristin graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology and has a passion for bridging industry and community and intends to seek workplace health and safety through providing science based techniques to create a healthy work environment that can resonate to many personal risks taken outside of the workplace. In bridging the work-life balance with safety in mind, Kristin hopes to decrease incidents in and out of the workplace.
Chris Mills is a gradute of the M.P.H. program in Industrial Hygiene. He is from North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University where he studied Environmental Technology and minored in Environmental Toxicology. Following graduation, he took time off from academic pursuits and volunteered for three years at the Baha'i World Centre in Haifa, Israel working in the Office of Correspondence where he worked with a diverse group of amazing people from around the world. After coming back from Israel in June 2014, he enrolled in the IH program at Michigan. After his first year of graduate school at Michigan he interned at AbbVie in North Chicago, IL where he performed exposure assessments on workers manufacturing pharmaceuticals and veterinary products, worked with a tool to prioritize containment hazards in the various manufacturing operations, performed ergonomic assessments in offices, and worked on various EHS-related projects.
Stephanie Sayler is a graduate of the M.S. program in Industrial Hygiene. She grew up in Georgia and enlisted in the United States Navy following high school graduation. During her 6 years in the Navy Nuclear Power Program, she worked in nuclear chemistry and radiation protection controls on board the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73). Following her enlistment, she attended Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia, where she earned her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Biology. During her final semester, she interned at the local public health department, which was her first formal introduction to the field. Upon graduation, she worked at the county Environmental Health Department in Savannah before moving to Michigan for a research position at the University of Michigan School of Public Health investigating noise-induced hearing loss under Dr. Rick Neitzel.
