We're working on a unit studying the US Constitution. For the first phase, students have been randomly assigned amendments with the goal of being able to explain the amendment and how it might be or might not be relevant today. They'll be making a drawing to represent the amendment so that others can understand what the amendment means. Later they'll be choosing an amendment they feel is the most important to our country today and writing about why they feel it is most relevant, as well as doing some more research on it's history. Some of this work can be done at home and here are some links that should be helpful:

These links can get you started, if you want to do some more research you can google "constitution for kids" or combine constitution with elementary education or similar words, this will likely get you some sites that are written for kids. I've looked at all these sites, but can't say for sure what's on all the links they provide, so be aware if you're clicking through several links.
