We're reading The Great Gilly Hopkins in class now and I should mention that the lead character Gilly is a very angry youth. The author includes phrases like "God Dammit" "Oh Hell" as things Gilly says. We've talked about the idea that the writer wanted to make the character realistic and that's why she wrote the dialogue that way. As always if you have any questions give me a call or send an email.
