I will be away for Tuesday, Wednesday and part of Thursday. For part of the time I'll be joining my own son's class as a parent volunteer for their outdoor education trip to 100 Elks camp up in the mountains. I'll also be attending meetings with the school district around the research work I'm doing this year. The research is on how we can best help students develop, improve and use higher order thinking skills. I'll be back in the classroom Thursday afternoon. I've alerted the students to this and wanted to let you all know what I'll be doing too. I don't take lightly being out of the classroom, so it doesn't happen often. My research work will take me out from time to time for meetings or observations around the school district and since parenting is my primary occupation I'm taking this opportunity to experience school work from the "other side".
