We've been trying out the MyOn Reading program here at school and I'm hoping that some students and parents will want to use the site to do some reading over the break. You can find the MyOn site at http://www.myon.com
When you get to the site you'll see a log in page - for the school name, if you start to type in Erie Elementary you'll see it appear and you can select the school name, the student's log in name and password are the same as they use in school. I've been reading along with the class and there are some great books available here. There are options for having the text read to you as well as just reading on your own and both are great. It's important to answer the questions at the end of the stories because the program is constantly evaluating your reading skills and then suggesting books to fit your reading level and interests. There's going to be a contest beginning on December 12th throughout the district and we can get some extra money for our library and purchase more books and reading materials if Erie has the most readers at MyOn. I hope you'll check it out.
