Sites Assessments

Please complete all assessments for the Sites module by joining Google Classroom with code.

Participants will receive all Classroom codes at the end of the previous module's Classroom stream (i.e. - Sites module code is the last post of the "Module 4: Gmail" stream). If you have questions, please email the instructor for your course and specify your section (HS/MS/ES/Hopi/Summer):

HS Fall/Hopi/Summer: Vicki Anderson (vanderson@susd.org)

MS Fall: Amy Downs (adowns@susd.org)

ES Fall: Lauren Grancagnolo (lgrancagnolo@susd.org)

Do not attempt to complete assessments from this page! Go to the Classroom for all directions and to submit work for PD credit.

This page contains only a description of each Assessment for the module to help you gauge if you are ready, but all of this information and more is also in the Classroom. Please follow all directions, and refer back to the Tutorials if you need instruction. Don't hesitate to contact your instructor if you have questions.

  1. Study terms and take the Google Sites Vocabulary quiz. You will find the link to Quizlet in Classroom. After practicing, follow the directions in Classroom to take the test.
  2. Create a new Google Site or use one you already have for the next 3 assessments, bulleted below. You will submit the link to your site through Classroom. Notice that these 3 assignments are combined in one post because you will only have one site to submit:
    • On at least one page of your site, INSERT (embed) multimedia elements such as pictures, videos, Google documents, folders, and image links. For the sake of this course, add 4 specific pages to your site, each in a different page type, and name them the name of the page type (i.e. - name the announcements page "Announcements") and add some content to each page (play around and learn by doing). These pages will allow you to experience the capabilities of each page type, and you can easily delete any of them which you do not need once your assessments have been graded by your instructor.
    • Open your Sharing & Permissions to at least include "Anyone at Scottsdale Unified School District with the link" can view. Alternately, you can invite your instructor individually (vanderson@susdgapps.org). Copy the link from the Sharing page and submit through the module Classroom.
    • This one has 3 parts: A) Personalize your site by changing the theme, colors, and/or fonts from the Manage Site settings. B) Next, select "Edit Site Layout" from the Gear drop-down menu and change some aspect(s) of your site; click DONE to return to your site. C) Finally, from your Home/landing page, select "Page Settings" and remove commenting and attachments as options, then save. (For your own purposes, keep in mind that Page Settings need to be set on individual pages and do not affect the entire site.)
  3. Study and take the Google Sites for Education quiz over some advanced Sites features. You will find the link to Quizlet in Classroom. After practicing, follow the directions in Classroom to take the test.

Please do not neglect to go back to the "Module 5: Sites" landing page and click on the Feedback icon when you have completed this module. Also, please TURN IN YOUR COMPLETED CHECKLIST to the Getting Started module Classroom when you are finished with all modules in the course.
