Lesson 1: Logging in to Google Apps

Tips for Logging into Your SUSD Google Apps (GApps) Account

You can log into GApps from literally any Google sign-in page as long as you use your full @susdgapps.org username. Directions with screenshots are below, but here are some ways to get to a login page:

  • Use the SUSD portal: googleapps.susd.org. It provides a bubble reminding you to enter your username (for employees this should be the same username with which you log into all things SUSD) + @susdgapps.org = username@susdgapps.org. Your password should also be the same as what you use for your other SUSD accounts.
  • Use the Apps Launcher icon to select any default app, and you will have the option to sign in. If you do not see the Apps Launcher Open a new tab in a Chrome browser and it should appear near the top right corner.
  • Log into Chrome directly (you'll learn more about this in the Chrome module) by clicking on the User ID button (beside the button to minimize your window) or selecting Settings from the "hot dog" menu

Remember that no matter which method you choose, you must use your full username@susdgapps.org. If your SUSD password does not work the first time you attempt logging into your GApps account, you may need to complete a password reset at pwreset.susd.org. Once your security questions are set up, click on Manage Passwords and follow all directions. You must change at least one character, and you must be on a school campus.

You do not need to sign out of Google Apps if you are signed into a computer as yourself (on campus, this is done through Active Directory) or if you are on your own computer, but please remember to log out if you are on a public computer by clicking on the icon next to your username in the top right corner of any page which has the Apps Launcher and selecting "Sign Out."

It is also good practice to remove your account information on a public computer if it shows on the sign-in page after you've signed out. Click "Sign in as different user," click "Remove," and click the X to the right of your username.

We also recommend that you set Chrome as your default browser. For instructions, click HERE.
