How You Will Receive Professional Development (PD) Credit for This Course

As explained in "Lesson 3: Join the Course Classroom," credit hour values will be assigned to each assessment for a lesson/module. At the end of the cycle, your completed hours will be tallied from the Classroom gradebooks to ensure that you receive credit for everything you have successfully completed. Again, do NOT unenroll from Classrooms or the record of your hours will be lost to the instructor.

In order to receive credit during any cycle of this course, you must sign up in MLP.

Each module has its own Classroom for submitting assessments.

Earning Credit for What You Already Know How to Do!

You have probably already noticed that some of these lessons have disclaimers at the top indicating that you may skip them if you are comfortable with the topics. Once you finished the "Getting Started" lessons and move on to app modules, you will be able to move quickly through the areas you already know. Complete all work in the module Classroom where detailed directions are provided and return to this website any time you need tutorials to complete a task. Please make sure that what you submit actually matches the assignment requirements in order to receive credit. Always read the small print in Classroom.

How Much Credit You Can Earn Now

Between "Getting Started" and the first 5 app modules, you may earn over 50 hours of PD credit during this cycle. Not all modules are worth the same number of hours because some apps (like Drive) require more in-depth knowledge to master.

If you have taken this course in a previous cycle, please note that you may not earn points again for the same assessments you have already completed for credit. Please pick up where you left off.

There is no "attendance" requirement for this course. You may complete as many or as few tasks as you wish and receive credit for what you submit.

Earning More Credit Hours Later

During any future cycle, you may sign up again and move forward to earn more credit. Starting Summer 2017, all modules will be offered as separate courses in MLP. Additional modules have already been added as separate modules, and we will create more modules throughout the year to allow for more credit hours to be earned.

The content of this lesson will be included in the Getting Started quiz for PD credit.

Next, move on to Lesson 5: How the Modules Work.
