Volunteers
AT THIS TIME- NO VOLUNTEERS ARE ACCEPTED IN OUR PROGRAM.
We are hoping when regulations get lifted we can have volunteers in the classroom.
(Pre-Covid Information below)
Volunteering in the classroom is a wonderful way to be involved in your child's preschool experience, to model service, and to enhance the program offerings. Parent volunteers will be asked to assist the teacher and children with planned activities (possibly lead an activity), reinforce school rules, and most importantly – to have fun!
If you would like to volunteer your time in the classroom, we ask that you contact your child’s teacher in advance. Together, a time that works best can be decided.
Kindly note that all parent volunteers are required to submit a current negative T.B. test. Parents who volunteer on a regularly, i.e. weekly basis, will be required to be fingerprinted. See the Director for details.
We also kindly ask that all parent volunteers keep the following expectations in mind:
Volunteers serving in the classroom must respect the classroom rules and support staff decisions regarding curriculum and behavior.
Volunteers serving in the school must support and model the moral teachings of the Catholic Church and function faithfully within the mission and structures of the school and parish with proper respect for those serving in ministries.
Volunteers work in a collaborative role with other ministering to the development of the children and the school as an educational institution. Volunteers are asked to recognize confidentiality as a living principle and respect the dignity of those with whom they work and come into contact.
Volunteers accept responsibility to use contacts made through the school in such a way so as not to disrupt the peace, order, and tranquility of the school community.
It is important to note that no one has the right to send digital images of a child/ren of other families into a public forum without parents’/guardians’ written consent
Should volunteers come into conflict on school/parish related issues, it is the responsibility of both to resolve the dispute through personal diplomacy and/or an executive decision by Director/ school Principal and/or the Pastor of the parish.
Any person who has a conflict with a school/parish volunteer outside of the boundaries of school/parish activities must settle that dispute outside of and without involving or using school/parish resources
