Scholastic Book Club

St. Stanislaus Catholic Preschool participates in a book-buying club offered by Scholastic. Each month, parents are given an opportunity to purchase popular children’s books at inexpensive prices. The books make terrific gifts or positive rewards and for every parent dollar spent, the preschool earns free books and bonus points towards classroom materials.

Typically parents send treats to the school for birthdays. Instead, we would like to suggest that your child treat the class to a birthday book. You are not obligated to do this. This is only a suggestion for a way for your child to share his/her birthday, to emphasize the importance of reading, and to begin to develop the concept of giving rather than receiving.

If you decide to send in a book, here are some notes:

You and your child may select a book at any of the bookstores or place an order with our Scholastic Book orders. Scholastic Books carries quality children’s literature at a preschool level.
Your child may bring any book wrapped in paper and tied with a ribbon to give to the class library. A bookplate with your child’s photo and the date will be glued inside.

This book-buying club is completely optional, but we hope you will take advantage of it.
