Hydraulic Conductivity

The hydraulic conductivity depends on the properties of the fluid and the medium that it flows through. This is represented by the following equation:

k = conductivity (m/s)

K = Permeability

ρ = Density

µ = Dynamic Viscosity

This equation can then be combined with Darcys's law to show that a prediction of the flow rate can be given from a known permeability (K).

In other words, K can be found using the Darcy velocity (q/A) over a fixed distance at a fixed pressure difference.
