EVERYONE: Make sure your robot fits into the crate. Work on improving your stability so it doesnt tip over. Consider adding a shield to prevent an opponent from reaching your balloon. Work on improving your attack arm to get more reach. Possibly look into using gears to get more power or more speed.

Research online "How are robots used in the military?". Find at least 3 different websites and 3 different robots. For each robot, list 3 cool facts you learned about them.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Keep designing your robot. Make sure it is less than 1000g (use the scale at the back).

HEAVYWEIGHT: Use as much weight as possible to get good grip with your tires. Try to get your robot strong enough to push a brick. Really consider using gears for more power.


Heavyweight category has no weight limit, build your robot as heavy as possible so it doesnt get pushed around too much.

Lightweight category robots must be less than 1000 grams. Build your robot to be sleek and fast.

There will also be dangerous obstacles on the course. Practice driving as much as possible to make sure you are ready!

Now start planning and designing a robot that can fit within a 12"x12"x12" box. It may have pieces that extend out of the box once the match begins, but they must do so automatically on their own. Maybe work on adding gears to your robot to increase speed, using the tracks to increase grip, or designing an attack arm that can extend to give you more reach.

Use this LOG SHEET to keep track of your wins and losses as you practice. Write down what modifications you do to improve your robot. You will need this information to fill out your Design Document.

Then we need to take some pictures of your robot and get some measurements to add to your report. We will also need a screenshot of the NXT Remote program. Then you can write a short paragraph explaining how you use the remote program to control your robot. We will also need to fill out the WIN/LOSS table and list any changes you've made to your robot to make it better.
