Designer Installation Troubleshooting

1. Which Designer version are you trying to install?
2. What is your OS version? 64 bit?
3. Check System Requirements. Installing Designer xx.xx
4. What is an error message?
5. Restart the computer before installation.
6. Turn off an antivirus software
7. Right click on setup.exe. Click Run as administrator to install it.

1. Is it restricted by a group policy, security or domain?
2. A thin client is not supported.

If you failed to install the Designer, you might need uninstall it.

How to completely uninstall Designer?

1. Backup your Designer scripts, dongle and any unrestorable content that is located in one of the Designer folders.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Select Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs, select Scala Designer 5, and Remove.
4. If any of the following folders exist please remove. All are their default paths:
   1. C:\Program Files\Scala\Designer 5 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Scala\Designer
   2. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Scala\InfoChannel Designer 5
   3. C:\Documents and Settings\{UserLoginName}\Application Data\Scala\InfoChannel Designer 5
   4. C:\Documents and Settings\{UserLoginName}\Local Settings\Application Data\Scala\InfoChannel Designer 5
   5. Windows 10
      1. C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Scala\InfoChannel Designer 5
5. Select Start / Run and type regedit, hit Enter to access the Registry. Remove any of the following Registry folders:
   1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Scala\InfoChannel Designer 5
   2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Scala\InfoChannel Designer 5
6. Restart the computer
7. Turn off the antivirus soft
8. Click Run as administrator to install it.
